Not always, but it should be evaluated promptly. Walls that have moved more than about 2 inches, or that show fresh horizontal cracking, are more likely to need steel wall anchors instead of carbon-fiber straps, so earlier inspection generally means more repair options.
Full-depth epoxy or polyurethane injection is designed to permanently seal the crack it’s applied to. It does not address separate cracks, unrelated water sources or further wall movement which is why we inspect the whole wall, not just the visible crack.
